A great pair of sunglasses can define an entire look, and the latest collaboration between RIMOWA and MYKITA makes a strong case for treating eyewear as an essential part of personal style. The two German brands expand their shared collection with the MR007 and MR008, alongside a new all-black version of the MR006, bringing together industrial materials, precision engineering and contemporary design.
The MR007 joins the HERITAGE series with a perfectly round silhouette, offering a distinctive alternative to the collection's more traditional shapes. Its construction combines stainless steel with anodized aluminum rings, creating a lightweight frame that highlights the material expertise shared by both brands. Available in Silver and Black, the design balances vintage-inspired proportions with a clean, modern finish.

For those drawn to more progressive eyewear, the MR008 introduces a streamlined interpretation of the VISOR series. The new design takes the collection's ultra-light shield concept and makes it slimmer and more compact while maintaining its wraparound coverage. Technical details remain central, including specially engineered toric lenses and MYKITA's signature MYLON clip, which secures the shield in place.
The debut Cashmere Silver frame is paired with a Shadow Silver shield, creating a tonal metallic finish inspired by raw industrial surfaces and the visual language of travel. The result feels futuristic without relying on excessive detailing, making the MR008 particularly relevant to the growing crossover between technical sportswear and luxury fashion.

Meanwhile, the MR006 returns in a completely blacked-out colorway. Based on the familiar teardrop aviator silhouette, the updated design offers a darker, more understated expression of the HERITAGE series. Its monochromatic finish brings a contemporary edge to one of eyewear's most recognizable shapes.
Each model also offers a different styling direction. The circular MR007 works naturally with relaxed tailoring, minimal knitwear and understated wardrobes, introducing a subtle retro influence. The MR008 makes a stronger statement alongside technical outerwear, oversized silhouettes and modern sportswear. The MR006, with its all-black finish, remains the most versatile option, complementing everything from leather jackets to simple everyday outfits.

Beyond their visual appeal, the collection reflects the manufacturing philosophy behind both brands. Every design was developed between Cologne and Berlin before being assembled by hand at MYKITA HAUS, the Berlin facility responsible for producing MYKITA's eyewear collections. Each pair includes a certificate of authenticity, while the new designs join the existing collaboration rather than replacing earlier models.
The campaign brings back actress Nina Hoss and model Leon Dame in The Rehearsal, a short film in which swapping sunglasses marks a transition between two characters. It is a fitting concept for a collection that explores how something as simple as eyewear can change the way a person is perceived.

With the MR007, MR008 and updated MR006, RIMOWA and MYKITA continue to blur the boundaries between functional engineering and fashion accessories. The appeal lies not in unnecessary decoration, but in the precision of the materials, the clarity of the silhouettes and the different personalities each design brings to a look.
