A new line of classic chronographs of unique design

Technically, the new line of watches from JACOB JENSEN™ has quite a lot

in common with the classic chronographs. A type of watches which have

become popular particularly among racing drivers, pilots and others who

need to measure time very accurately, but also among ordinary watch

fetishists. However, the difference is what catches the eye. By challenging

conventional thinking, JACOB JENSEN™ has created a line of chronographs

in a unique, beautiful and simple design

The idiom is JACOB JENSEN™ as we know it. Based on the design philosophy

that has made the Danish design company one of the most recognized and

respected in the world for more than a quarter of a century. All unnecessary

features have been trimmed away, leaving only the pure lines, the function

and the materials. It is a delight, not only to those who require sublime

quality and functionality, but also to the eye.

”The chronograph was introduced as a wristwatch in 1910. Since then, the

design hasn’t radically changed,” says Chief Designer Timothy Jacob Jensen.

He continues to run his father’s design company according to the principles that

have fostered several of the absolute icon products of the twentieth century.

”Most chronographs made through history are more or less variations on the

same theme: The more numbers, divisions and details, the better! But one

should not forget that a watch is both an article for everyday use and an

ornament. Therefore we decided to create a different chronograph. A watch,

which is simple and beautiful, regardless of time and place, but which at the

same time, fulfi ls most of the demands made on chronographs. I think that

the result speaks for itself,” says the 42-year-old Chief Designer.

He realises that many people will think that a chronograph should not be

so simple, although, Timothy Jacob Jensen does not consider that a problem

- on the contrary. ”We know that we appeal directly to a certain group of

consumers with this product. Ideally, everybody should have the opportunity

to buy a wristwatch to suit their taste. Some people like lots of gadgets and

gimmicks, others prefer simplicity. And now we have designed a chronograph

that fi nally fulfi ls the demand for simplicity,” concludes the Chief Designer.
