It has been nearly three decades since the Air Max 1 debuted visible Air, a radical technology that transformed footwear design and spurred a franchise so strong as to merit an annual celebration. Today, the silhouette marks another milestone: It pairs with transformative Nike technology Flyknit to form the Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Flyknit, the lightest Air Max 1 ever. 

 

 

Perfected through countless prototypes, stewarded by the project's lead designer Ben Yun, the shoe features open Flyknit construction in the toe and tongue for ventilation while closed construction in the heel adds support. A no-sew rand just above the midsole connects to the original Air Max 1. The lightweight, flexible ultra tooling increases comfort.

 

The Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Flyknit is available in men's and women's sizes and colorways starting July 28, 2016 via
