PAINKILLER S/S16 takes you back to revisit the pleasantness of the homespun lifestyle with “Vernacular” a collection inspired by the people’s daily way of life in Thailand. The en- chanting diversity in colors of rural landscape combining with the simplicity of life and the interesting complexity of culture are the main story of this collection.

Ranging from Jasmine rice off-white, Moss green, Greyish-Blue to Indigo and Black, the palette of the collection delivers relaxed and humble notion, the kind that reminds us of the never-ending lush, rice-field landscape; tranquil yet high-spirited.

 

The all-over prints “Ta-pian” showing us the traditional intellect of how-to-steps for tinfoil barb fish charms creating with coconut leaves weaved together which is the symbol that represents sublimity and exuberance in Thai culture. The spot screen motif “Ta-kraw” is inspired by kick volleyball, native sports to Southeast Asia that has more depth to it than being just a traditional sports, but to be considered more of an art of how to gracefully bal- ance the ball aloft.

Sculpting ample silhouette with various textiles from light Linen to lustrous suiting, the col- lection offers understated yet edgy feelings. Some Chinese costume details were adopted to illustrate the cultural bonding and the mixing roots of Designer’s family; the folded white sleeves of Oversized Linen Jacket, the folded Pocket and etc.

Hand-woven and Hand-dyed indigo fabrics are sewn into the limited edition vest, which would be a glimpse of heritage to Modern gentlemen wardrobe. Hill-tribe style ribbon de- tails adorned street pieces to give them some Asian pride vibes.

PAINKILLER’s S/S 16 must-haves are printed “Ta-pian” shirts in Light blue and Dark In- digo, coconut leaves pocket-details oxford shirt, loose slack trousers that comes in differ- ent materials; Linen, Super suiting fabrics, or even in sweat-shirt track-pants version and Polo-shirt-jogging ensemble for leisure days.
